On June 22^nd, Management Training Institute (MTI) under Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Baria-Vungtau Department of Science and Technology opened the 4-day training course on “State Management of  Science and Technology in the context of international economic integration. Trainees participating in the traing course came from DOST’s of South provinces as: Longan, Vinhlong, Binhthua, Dongnai… and state management offices, enterprises of the Baria-Vungtau province.

On April 12, Center for Advaced Application of Science and Technology under DOST Baria-Vungtau in combination with BKNET HCM City organized the 6-day training course for network administrators of departments and districts in Baria-Vungtau province.

On 17th December 2009, the Department of Science and Technology co-ordinated with Institute for Nuclear Science and Technique (INST) held a seminar of offering suggestions to build a plan dealing with incident of radiation of Baria-Vungtau province. This is the seminar which aims to offer suggestions in order to build a draft plan to deal with radiation incidents in the content of deployment of the project “Researching and building plans to cope with radiation incidents in the area of Baria-Vungtau Province” chaired by Dr. Dang Duc Nhan (INST).

On October 2nd, The Center of Informatics and Scientific and Technological Information (CISTI BR-VT) in collaboration with the Science and Technology Department of Ho Chi Minh City organized a seminar of infringements of Intellectual Property Rights. The representatives of departments, enterprises in the provincial area attended the seminar.

On September 22nd, the Center for Application of Advanced Science and Technology held a training course on safety and control of nuclear radiation. Representatives of departments, businesses related to radiation safety participated in the training course.

On 10 and 11, Sept. , 2009, Department for Standardization, Metrology and Quality control of Baria Vungtau Province in cooperation with Directorate for Quality management in South Vietnam held a training course on guiding implementation of legal documents on Standards, metrology and quality products, goods.

International Workshop on Nanotechnology Application 2009 which opened in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on November 12.

On the date of August 21st, 2009 at the Palace Hotel – Vungtau City, the Ministry of Science & Technology together with the People' s Committee of Baria-Vungtau Province held the tenth conference of Science and Technology hand over to the next shift of the South-east region. Attending the conference were Dr. Nguyen Quan, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Vo Thanh Ky, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong Xinh, Vice President of the provincial People' s Council, representatives of several departments of the province and representatives of 8 Science and Technology Departments of South-east region...

On the day of 29th, May 2009, Center of Informatics and Scientific and Technological Information held a seminar entitled: "Nanotechnology,the development and potential" at the VCCI Baria-Vungtau. Reporter was Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Phong, Deputy Director of Laboratory NanoTechnology, National University Ho Chi Minh City. 80 Representatives of departments, agencies, businesses of baria-vungtau attended this seminar.

The “RS application in Vietnam and THEOS image – Thailand experience” Workshop took place in the Victory Hotel in Ho Chi Minh city on 13 may, 2009. The Workshop Staff included Dr. Nguyen Xuan Lam, Director of NRSC Vietnam, Dr. Thongchai Charuppat, Director of GISTDA Thailand.

The Ship Repair Plant project at the South of Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) is a sensitive project to the environment by specific industry and location of the project on the Thi Vai River. Concerns of polluted environment treatment for implementing the above project was raised many questions by scientists to investors at the conference held in the morning May 11. Most comments contributed for the project are to avoid having a "copy" as Hyundai Vinashin in BR-VT ...

On the day of 23 November 2008, Encouraging Fishery Center organized a Seminar of Sonar on the fishing boats in the open sea.

On the day of 30 October 2008, at the Vungtau High School, the Education and Training Department has organized a seminar on the special subject: “Problems of teaching the program of local philology in junior high schools of Baria-Vungtau Province”. The seminar was carried out by BA Dao Viet Hung.

On the day of 10 October 2008, in Vungtau VCCI meeting-hall took place a seminar “Trademark – Assets and Values” organized by Vietnam VCCI with a lecture of Professor Ton That Nguyen Thiem, Director of the Training Program Int’l MBA & PhD of Nyenrode Business Institutes in Vietnam, at the same time he is a Director of the Training Program MBA & BBA of United Business Institutes in Vietnam.

In order to help farmers do their home economics, develop production, stabilize and raise their living standards to have a part in implementing the local poverty-alleviation campaign. From the beginning of the year until now, all levels of the Farmers Union of Xuyen Moc District have coordinated with Agriculture and Aquaculture Extension Center to organize 75 courses of agricultural and aqua-cultural extension and seminars at edge of rice field, attracting almost 4,000 participations.  

Organised by Centre for Informatics and Scientific, Technological Information falling under Department of Science and Technology associated with Misoft, a company specialized in top security under the  Ministry of Defense at the Meeting Hall on the 7^th floor of VCCI, Vung Tau city on the morning of May 30, 2008.

In April 29, 2008, the DOST held a training course called “State management on activities about Science Study and Technology Development”. Taken part in the training course were: the Director of the DOST, Dr. Truong Thanh Cong; representatives of sectors and departments  in the communes and province; members of the PSC; cadres who manage science and technology in communes; representatives from organizations who lead the projects in the province, etc.

Within the project called " Developing the model of electrial information serving for BR-VT socio-economic development " in period II, from 27 to 31 of, a training course on "image procesing and internet edition" was held by the Center of Informatics and S&T Information for 10 cadres who work at the Station of S&T Electrical Information in 5 communes of Tan Hung (Ba Ria Town), Chau Pha (tan Thanh district), Phuoc Tinh (Long Dien district), Dat do (Dat Do district) and Long Son (Vung Tau).
