On June 22^nd, 2010, provincial Scientific Council organized to approve the subject “Building engineering and geological database and map editing of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province”, headed by MA Phan Van Tuyen belonging to Southern water resources investigation & planning Union.

To build engineering and geological database and map editing for major economic and coastal areas of BR-VT province.

On June 11^th, 2010, provincial Scientific Council organized to approve the draft “applying Information Technology to household management in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province”. Head of subject is Mr. Do Huu Hien (Center for Application of Advanced Science and Technology of BR-VT province) and commander Doan Van Quyet (Department PC 13- Ba Ria-Vung Tau Public Security).

On June 4^th, 2010, Department of Science & Technology organized Scientific Council to select, approve the draft of the subject “Surveying situation, development potential, researching bio-chemical features and testing the process of manufacturing wine from Homalonema Aromatica at Con Dao National Park”.
Homalonema Aromatica, discovered and used long time ago in the life and medical field, is the important component of oriental medicine to treat rheumatism, aches of joint.

On 5^th May, Department of Science & Technology organized a conference to accept provincial subject of educational scientific at provincial level “Quality of teacher staff in primary school of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, real situation and solution”, MA degree Nguyen Huu Le (Education colleague of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province) acts as subject chairman.

On 6^th May, Department of Science & Technology organized a conference to accept scientific subject “study and build prevention plan from radiation problem in Ba Ria – Vung Tau region”, headed by PhD. Dang Duc Nhuan (Belongs to Institute of Science and nuclear Technology).

On April 21^st, 2010, Department of Science & Technology organized a conference to accept scientific subject “survey to look for underground water source at some water deficiency areas of Ba Ria- Vung Tau province by radiation geography method”, headed by Dr. Vu Van Bang (Belongs to Environment – Earth Rays research Joint Stock Company).
Main purpose of subject is to manufacture geo-radiation meter to look for underground water at Suoi Rao commune (Chau Duc district) and Con Son (Con Dao district),

On April 1^st, 2010 Department of Science & Technology organized the conference to summarize Science & Technology operation at district level in 2009 and approval of plan in 2010 with presence of economic departments’ representatives: Con Dao District, Ba Ria Town, Vung Tau City and industry & trade sections  of districts: Tan Thanh, Chau Duc, Xuyen Moc, Long Dien, Dat Do.

On March 19, Ministry of Public Security hold a seminar at Vung Tau City to check and take over the research work “Security history of the south-east country during the period of anti-American resistance war to save the country (1954-1975)”. Lieutenant-general, Prof, Dr Trần Đại Quang, member of Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Public Security is the Chairman of the Jury.

On December 22nd, 2009, the Department of Science and Technology held to check and take over the theme “Selection and building technical process for custard-apple in Baria-Vungtau Province”. Dr. Bui Xuan Khoi of South Eastern Fruit Research Center is head of theme.

The Plant Protection Research Institute of Vietnam (PPRI) has conducted a survey and sampling some diseases of plants in Xuyen Moc District. These are activities in researching of the project "Essential Investigation of the harmful pests on some crop plants” chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology BR-VT has conducted checking and taking over the project of application of solar energy at the two Border Stations and Dinh River float observing station. The works are carried out by the Center for Application of Advanced Science and Technology with total investment of nearly 100 million VND.

On the day of 22nd, May 2009, the Science and Technology Department has organized a  ceremony handing over the research results of themes and projects which have been implemented in the period 2005 till now for the departments, agencies and the district people ’s committees office deployed applications of researchs.

In the rainy season, there are many thunderstorms with lightning causing deadly cases over some districts of Baria-Vungtau Province. In order to reduce natural calamity from lightning, the Department of Science and Technology of Baria-Vungtau Province entrusted the Center for Application of Advanced Science and Technology to preside over a project - installing lightning protection system model for supporting people in Xuyen Moc and Dat Do Districts.

On the day of April 9th, 2009, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology has organized a Council for appraising technology of the project “Dai Thanh Factory of recycling industrial slag in the area of concentrated waste treatment Toc Tien – Tan Thanh, Baria-Vungtau Province”. Prof. Dr. Bui Song Cau – Polytechnic University of Hochiminh City – is the president of the Council. Dai Thanh Joint Stock Company is the investor of the project.   

On the day of March 31st 2009, the Provincial Science Council has organized a conference in order to approve the theme: “Constructing scientific arguments of strong developing investment of transport and communications infrastructure for coastal corridor line Tan Thanh – Baria – Long Son – Vungtau to 2015 and vision up to 2020”. The theme has been presided over by Associated Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thu – Institute of Transport Planning and Management, University of Transport and Communications.

On the day of March 19th 2009, the Provincial Science Council has organized a conference in order to inspection test the theme: “Researching to design a model of Cannon and reconstruct the ceremony of firing cannons in Baria-Vungtau Province” which has been presided over by Colonel – Dr. Vo Quang Hung (Southern Base of Weapon Institute – General Department of Defence Technology) and Dr. Dinh Van Hanh.

On the day of March 31st 2009, the Provincial Science Council has organized a conference to approve the theme: “The rights and resolutions in order to improve the vocational training capacity in Baria-Vungtau Province”. The theme has been presided over by Dr. Ngan Thuy Collin and BSc Thai Quoc Viet is a co-presider. The Science and Technology Informatics Center is the entity which has presided over the theme.

On the 22nd of December 2008, the Provincial Science Council presided at by Mr. Vo Thanh Ky – Vice President of the Provincial People’s Committee – has organized a conference to check and take over the project: “Development planning Science and Technology of Baria-Vungtau Province to 2015 and vision to 2020”. The project has been presided over by Prof. Dr. Dang Ngoc Dinh – Vietnam Institute of Development Studies (VIDS) Hanoi.

On the day of 16 December 2008, the Provincial Science Council presided over by Dr. Truong Thanh Cong – Director of the Science and Technology Department – has organized a conference in order to check and take over the theme: “ Seismic  and Tsunami hazard Assessments for Baria-Vungtau Province and seismic microzoning for Vungtau City”. Dr. Le Tu Son – Institute of Geophysics - is the Director of the theme.

On the 25^th of July, the Science Council organized to approve the theme “Research, design a device to resist horizontal oscillations by the main rudder for Con Dao Passenger-ship”. The Head of the subject is Master Tran Manh Tuan – Consultant and Design Ship Technology and Maritime Services Ltd, Co (SMC).

On 24 April, Department of Science and Technology organized to check and take over the sun voltaic system development in Con Dao (to be installed at the Forest Management Station of Con Dao National Park and Hon Cau Border Station)

In April 11, 2008, the DOST organized a sciencetific coucil to accept a project called: “Develop GIS for urban development in BR-VT”. The project was headed by Eng. Nguyen Thi Huong Lan, INOVA ( Ho Chi Minh City)

In March 12, 2008, The DOST BR-VT held a workshop to approve the project called: “Do survey and select longan in BR–VT”. This project has mainly been applied in Vung Tau city, Xuyen Moc and Tan Thanh districts, which was co-headed by PhD. Bui Xuan Khoi, the Director of the Southeast Fruits Center and Agriculture Eng. Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet, Vice Director of the DOST BR-VT.

In January the first, Provincial Science Council held a meeting to check-up a project called “Study to design and improve 110cc motorbikes into three-wheel motorbikes which use gas for collecting and transporting solid waste of inhabitant in BR-VT”, which is chaired by Dr. Truong Thanh Cong, Director of the DoST. This project has been headed by En. Le Minh Hai – Dong Minh Gas Co. Ltd.

In November 10, the DoST held a council for checking up a project called “Survey scientific and technological potential for ST cadres in BR-VT, propose a solution for development” chaired by Dr. Prof. Ngo Van Luoc and presided by the Association of Science and Economy.

On 21 August, 2007, the Provincial Scientific Committee examined a proposal of scientific research study - Developing a model of study society in BR–VT for approving it, co-chaired by   Mr. Do Quoc Hung, the Chairman of Study Encouragement Society (SES) and Mr. Nguyen Minh Hue, the Chairman of Provincial Educational Psychology Association (PEPA).
